a/n: kasabian's 'underdog' totally made me think of reboot!kirk, so i had to make a mix around it -- so this mix focuses on everything leading up to when jim joins starfleet/turns his life around. (and yes, there is nsync in it. IT'S ODDLY FITTING.) i have a few other star trek mixes i'm working on (AOS & TOS), including an AOS kirk/spock that starts with cobra starship's 'i kissed a boy' (I KISSED A BOY JUST TO START SHIT) because it's perfect for their ambiguous animosity. =D anyway, enjoy!

a/n: i actually made this mix a long time ago, but never got around to posting it. it's actually one of my favorites, because i feel like the songs really fit them & their struggles with their feelings (this mix seems mostly ennis' pov, to me) & the feel of the movie well. plus, disintegration is a gorgeous song. enjoy!

a/n: one of my favorite star trek canon pairings. i feel like they must have such a fascinating backstory -- how this unlikely pair of people who literally come from different planets ended up together, and how amanda decided to leave her entire world behind in order to stay with the man she loved. it's the kind of sappy romance that i love! (even if it's not so outwardly expressed, it's the actions that count;;) aside about the mix: 'across the universe's lyrics really makes me think of a mindmeld.

since this mix takes place prior to the events of star trek, it fits for either TOS or AOS.
